HMNTY Terms of Service

Agreement
By using HMNTY ("the App"), you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, don't use the App.
HMNTY is operated by Vine Street Ventures LLC d/b/a HMNTY, an Iowa limited liability company ("HMNTY," "we," "us"). Mailing address: PO Box 56, Glenwood, IA 51534.
Eligibility
You must be 18 or older to use HMNTY. By creating an account, you confirm you meet this requirement.
Your Account
- You're responsible for your account and everything that happens under it
- Keep your login credentials secure
- Don't create fake accounts or impersonate others
Acceptable Use
Don't use HMNTY to:
- Harass, threaten, or bully other users
- Post illegal, harmful, or inappropriate content
- Spam or promote scams
- Violate anyone's privacy or intellectual property
- Organize illegal activities
Activities & Events
- HMNTY is a platform for connecting people — we don't organize or host events ourselves
- Attend events at your own risk and use good judgment
- HMNTY is not liable for anything that happens at events arranged through the app
- The host, not HMNTY, organizes each event and is responsible for it, including the venue, safety, staff, alcohol service and what happens there. HMNTY is not the organizer, venue or promoter of events and does not attend or supervise them.
Content
- You own the content you post (photos, messages, activity descriptions)
- By posting, you grant HMNTY a license to display your content within the app
- We can remove content that violates these terms
Paid Features
Subscriptions
- HMNTY offers optional auto-renewing subscriptions: HMNTY Pro (monthly or annual), Influencer Pro (monthly or annual), HMNTY Business (monthly), and HMNTY Brand (monthly or annual). The exact title, length, and price of each plan are shown on the purchase screen in the app before you buy.
- Subscriptions renew automatically. Payment is charged to your Apple ID or Google Play account at confirmation of purchase. Your subscription renews automatically at the same price for the same period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period.
- You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time: on iPhone in Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions, or on Android in the Google Play Store app → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.
- Any unused portion of a free trial, where offered, is forfeited when you purchase a subscription.
- Subscription purchases made through Apple or Google Play are governed by Apple's or Google's terms; refund requests for those purchases are handled by Apple or Google, not HMNTY.
Creator passes
- Creators may offer paid tiers ("Creator Pass") that unlock their exclusive posts and perks. A Creator Pass is a one-time 31-day pass, bought on hmnty.app through Stripe, our payment processor — not through Apple or Google. It does not renew automatically; to keep access after 31 days, buy another pass. Creator Passes are currently available in the United States only. A creator subscription bought through Apple inside the app, where offered, is billed by Apple under the Subscriptions terms above.
- The creator sells the pass. HMNTY accepts your payment as the creator's payment collection agent and keeps a platform fee from it.
- Perks are provided by the individual creator. HMNTY does not guarantee a creator's posting frequency or continued participation. HMNTY does not issue retroactive refunds for passes already used; contact support@hmnty.app if a creator stops posting during your pass.
Tickets and paid events
- Who sells the ticket. Each ticket is sold by the event's host, not by HMNTY. Checkout shows who the seller is ("Sold by [host]"). HMNTY accepts your payment as the host's limited payment collection agent: when you pay HMNTY for a ticket, you have paid the host for it.
- Prices are all-in. The ticket price you see in the app is the total you pay for one ticket. If a host has chosen to have buyers cover card processing, the price already includes a service fee, and checkout shows how much of the price it is.
- Refunds before the event. You can refund an unused ticket in the app until the event's scheduled start time. The refund goes back to your original payment method and includes any service fee you paid.
- Refunds after the event starts are up to the host. Contact the host first, then support@hmnty.app if it isn't resolved.
- If the host cancels the event, or deletes their HMNTY account, ticket holders are refunded in full automatically.
- A ticket admits one person and is void once scanned at the door. HMNTY does not offer ticket resale or transfer. Do not post your ticket code publicly; anyone who has it may be able to use it. Where the law gives you the right to resell or transfer a ticket (for example in Colorado), these Terms do not take that right away.
Hosts
- Separate Host Terms apply when you sell tickets. If you sell tickets, accept sponsorship payments, or connect a payout account, you will also be asked to accept the HMNTY Host Terms. If these Terms and the Host Terms conflict about hosting, the Host Terms control.
- Listing is free. You can list any event for free, including with a link to your own booking page.
- Membership. Selling tickets needs an HMNTY Business membership ($29.99/month). We're covering it free while we launch in your area (until it reaches 5,000 HMNTY users within 80 miles).
- HMNTY's fee. Your first 50 paid tickets carry no HMNTY fee. After that, HMNTY's fee is 6% of each ticket (5% for paid Business or Brand members), never more than $3 a ticket.
- Card processing is a flat 2.9% + 35¢ per order, charged in addition to HMNTY's fee. It is a flat fee, not our exact cost. For each event, the host chooses who pays it: the host, or the buyer (shown to buyers as a service fee included in the price).
- Refunds and fees. Refunds come out of the host's proceeds. When a buyer refunds a ticket, HMNTY gives its fee on that ticket back to the host and keeps only the card processing fee.
- No paid political fundraising. You can list political events for free, but you can't sell tickets or take payments through HMNTY that raise money for a candidate, campaign, political party, PAC or ballot committee.
- Launch offers. Hosts who received a written HMNTY launch offer of no HMNTY fee in their city keep it (card processing only) until their city reaches 5,000 HMNTY users. "City" means within 80 miles of the city center, and "users" means registered HMNTY accounts whose saved location is in that area. We will email those hosts at least 60 days before the standard fee applies.
Hosting and payouts
- Hosts who sell tickets receive payouts through Stripe Connect and must complete Stripe's onboarding and identity checks. By accepting payouts you also agree to the Stripe Connected Account Agreement.
- Payouts are sent 2 days after your event ends. Your bank may take 1–2 more business days to show the deposit.
- You are solely responsible for reporting and paying any taxes on money you earn through HMNTY. HMNTY does not withhold taxes on your behalf.
- You must have the right to run the event you post, including any venue permission, permits, or licenses it requires.
Sponsorships
- Businesses may offer to sponsor an event, and hosts may accept, decline, or counter those offers. A sponsorship is an agreement between the sponsor and the host. HMNTY provides the platform and processes payment; it is not a party to the agreement and does not guarantee either side's performance.
- Sponsored content must be disclosed as such where required by law, including the FTC's endorsement guidelines.
- Sponsorship fee. When a sponsor pays a host through HMNTY, HMNTY keeps 10% of the payment (5% if the host has a paid Business or Brand membership), and never less than 2.9% + 35¢.
One-time purchases (boosts and ad credits)
- HMNTY also offers optional one-time, non-recurring purchases such as activity boosts (24-hour Spotlight / 72-hour Featured), featured-profile placements, and ad credits for business placements. The title and price of each item are shown on the purchase screen before you buy. These are not subscriptions and do not renew.
- A boost or placement begins as soon as the purchase completes and runs for its stated period. Because the service starts immediately, these purchases are generally non-refundable once the boost has started; refund requests for purchases made through Apple are handled by Apple under Apple's terms.
Deals and promotions
- Businesses and brands may post deals (discounts or offers) in the app. A deal is offered and honored by the business that posts it, not by HMNTY. HMNTY does not guarantee that a business will honor a deal and is not responsible for the goods or services it covers.
External links and affiliate commissions
- Some events link out to a third-party site to buy tickets or book (for example a host's own booking page, or a ticketing partner such as Ticketmaster). Those purchases are made on the third party's site under its terms; HMNTY is not a party to them and does not handle their refunds.
- HMNTY may earn a commission when you buy through some of these links. This never changes the price you pay.
Copyright
If you believe content on HMNTY infringes your copyright, email support@hmnty.app with a description of the work, the location of the content in the app, your contact information, and a statement that you have a good-faith belief the use is unauthorized. We remove infringing content and terminate repeat infringers.
Termination
We can suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms. You can delete your account at any time from Settings.
Disclaimer
HMNTY is provided "as is." We're not liable for:
- Interactions between users (online or in person)
- Content posted by users
- Service interruptions or data loss
- Events organized through the platform
Changes
We may update these terms. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance.
